It came back.

I think I'll start calling her Christine, though she's a 78 Firebird Esprit. A Navy friend who bought her in 80...something...finally decided to let her go after he had me maintain her while he was gone on deployment, which included a new carb, master cylinder, calipers, pads, a lot of dash wiring, interior panels, heater core, blower motor, various gaskets, and standard tuneup stuff. He preferred to sell to me but I had no cash, despite the fact that he didn't care when I paid him (and reminded me when I told him I got the car back, today), so it went on to another guy. We toiled to find every little piece of original everything that came with the car before he passed her on.

I was horrified to see her on CL less than a month later. The dude's price was insanity and I had to wipe a tear and move on.

Today I find her up again, except for STUFF instead of money. I still have no money but I have lots of crap left over from my days as a single guy. The new seller was a nice dude who picked her up, after some horrific bodywork was started, for a father-son project that never materialized.

Long story short, a lot of the things I fixed are still fixed but just a little fucked up. A lot of things that weren't broken are.

But she's home...and I know where that first motherfucker lives. If he doesn't cough up the entire A/C system, the spare, and a bunch of other shit we made sure he got, Imma burn his house down, because light blue metallic lives matter.

I'll post pics if any one of the 9 faggots who come here give a shit.

That's the one, though I did end up replacing most of that in the long run.

Was about a year ago. Clean, mostly original, all honest, minor rust from a CA car, and everything was factory and present. Original sbc 350 and trans.

Last night. Entire A/C removed, carb idles too high, spare's gone, factory air cleaner and valve covers replaced with cheap chrome. Rust ground through and left bare with a big mess of Bondo on the roof. This was a survivor and now it's bubba'd to fuck.

Worst part is now it really NEEDS paint as my garage is taken up with my brother's Z28. Gotta get that fucker fixed and out!

Future plans: new suspension bushings, LT1/4L60E, shortened driveshaft, headers, and duals. Since it was originally a small block Chevy car, I don't feel bad about swapping in the LT1 and trans, which I want for driveability and overdrive on the highway.

I want this to be 100% driver. It's a 78 Esprit. It never really was a muscle car.

Yeah. I have a lot of CI parts in my 73. What I really need is a welder.
