Denver's firing John Fox is certainly a bombshell! I don't think it is justified considering the teams record for the last two seasons. With Fox's departure I wonder if Manning will retire soon too? I have heard a lot of pundits talking about how their roster will be pretty hard hit by free agency next year, so I'm wondering if wholesale changes are afoot? To me the Falcons job would seem to be the most natural place for Fox, rather than the 49ers or Bears so I don't understand why he's not being mentioned with that position?
*edit*
Wow they say the entire coaching staff has been canned!

Dumbest move ever. I can't think of a better coach on the market. The only thing I could see working is if they got Urban Meyer to give the pros a go. That is a big if.

Honestly I think firing coaches with winning records and letting their entire staff go is very shortsighted and I think it sends the wrong message to coaching candidates. You can talk about the teams accountability to its fans, but being reactionary hasn't paid off for a lot of organizations (Jets, Raiders, Browns, Jaguars, Miami). Ultimately I think it hurts the team in terms of both leadership development and continuity.

They had to win this year or it was over. Their entire offense, minus Manning, is pretty much a free agent now.
Manning's deal guarantees the upcoming year's salary if he is on the roster at the conclusion of the previous year. So they need to make a decision on him also by the technical end of the football season.
They are probably going to blow it up and start over.

Elway didn't offer me the Denver Broncos coaching job. He just had me in to get the Rooney Rule mess out of the way

I don't like that move much. I thought he would have been a better candidate for Atlanta.
