I just wonder what kind of sonic effect I might hear. I don't even want to give a goal, because I don't want the thread to take a detour. I just want to hear what changing an output transformer has the potential to change.

I had to replace the OT in my Bassman, but the whole amp was also gutted at the same time, so I can't say how much of a difference it makes. Most of the time what I hear is that it affects the feel of the amp more than affecting any frequency in particular. Though a larger OT definitely affects the low end response.

I put one in my Princeton RI a year or so back. One of the beefier ones.
Honestly, I think I liked the original better but I never got around to returning it to stock. I think I liked the looseness of the smaller transformer. Probably why my Vibrolux Reverb sounded better to me.

I changed the OT on my old Blackheart 15 watt head. It was supposed to improve the frequency response, but all it really did was make the lows stand out a little more. Not really what I thought it would do.
I hear Mexico is nice this time of year.
