The Vinyl Thread

Let's talk vinyl.

What have you picked up lately? What's spinning right now? What rare pieces are you considering dropping mad skrillah on? What rad colored/swirled discs do you have in your collection? What turntable are you rocking? I want to hear it all.

I just picked up reissues of Joni Mitchell's "Blue" and "Ladies of the Canyon" for under $35 shipped. Pretty good deal IMO considering that the Blue RI usually goes for almost $40 on its own.

Can't remember when I last bought vinyl - 1986?

I think I'd love an old school toob stereo. Got other priorities tho'.

I can say I lost 1000s of LPs in the typical way that I lose things. I left my collection at the parents house and they disappeared . List includes a 63 Galaxy 500 , early 70s Blackface Bassman , 69 Gibson V and etc...

Please feel free to leave stuff at my house.

I left my mint Echoplex in the upstairs room at the Animal House never to be seen again. That place was in a wonderful location and got destroyed by young idiots without a clue. House was built in the early 1800s and was eventually knocked down about 20 years ago or so. We used to pull studs out of the wall to burn in the cast iron stove in the kitchen for heat that would be worth a fortune now. Also lost a mint original first run Heil Talkbox there sheesh.

I was going to post about how they've re-issued some of the Pink Floyd catalog on LP (complete with posters and stickers) but after reading Oinkus' sorry tale I am just sad.
