Would this be silly, mod content.

I have this sweet charvel i did with a dragon graphic on it. The only problem is the neck is twisted and the tremolo isn't really suited to a angled headstock.

I have a mahogany neck here with a great big cbs style reverse headstock. I was thinking i could remove the fretboard from it and glue on another one with a extensions that reaches out to the neck pickup, Making it 25 frets. I would get some purple side dots and purple dots for the fingerboard. I would also continue the graphic onto the headstock

Here is a quick mock up

I have been considering this for awhile now but i dont really know if the headstock will work with it.

Any ideas??

NO!!! Don't do it. That would be fugly as all sin.

What is the problem, exactly with the headstock shape? Are you having problems because of the splay of the strings after the nut?

Wouldn't a Floyd Rose install be cheaper and easier in the long run?

No, good floyds cost a bundle plus this cavity is designed for a vintage and cant be modded now. The tremolo on it is great quality anyway. gfs with a big brass block.

Modding a neck like that would be basic. I was thinking i could do a thread here to show you how easy it can be done. Frets and nuts are the hard part.

Gotcha, but scratching my head on why the Floyd can't be retrofitted...

Looking forward to see the fingerboard addition pics if you decide to go about it.

See the difference? Its not worth it on this as the body is already super nice and finished. I don't want to risk a chip and spending too much. Doing just the neck would be cheap and would cost me the price of the frets, glue and inlays.

Just changing the fretboard is not the hard part for sure , pretty easy to remove one with just an old laundry iron and a flat putty knife. Eventually I will get the first one I started done but I am at the zero point in fretwork so it might take a few years.Haven't done a nut from a blank yet either. Good luck with this one , with a little care and patience should turn out nice. I am not a fan of fretboard extensions that is why it is now listed as such on the Warmoth site if I had a vote I would say go to 22.

Why are the G strings riding the B slot in the nut ?
Is this some fancy death metal way of setting up your guitar ?
