Are you not a fan of the PRS tone control location, Whiz?

Mine is more traditional. It's also an import, so there's really no comparison. I'm a Gibson guy at heart, and I like the four knobs, to be totally honest. I just feel like it would be a bit out of the way, but realistically, I change pickups much more often than I mess with the tone control.

Funny, I've always felt that LP controls are too far out of the way for me. I grew up on a Strat and then a PRS clone, so I'm very used to having the volume knob easily accessible. I don't use the tone knob very much, so I find it's in the perfect place on PRS guitars. When I go to pull it up to split the coils on my McCarty, I've never felt it's too far away.

Huh, it just goes to show you how much your formative guitar years influence your tastes for the rest of your life. I guess that goes for everything though.

One of the semi-local shops stocks a ton of PRS guitars. The owner is unbelievably enthusiastic about them. I was there on a slow day, and he spent a good 90 minutes pulling down different ones, shoving them on my hands and explaining all the different features. After the first one I made it abundantly clear I couldn't afford one, not wanting to waste his time, but you could tell he didn't care, and didn't slow down a bit.

I still remember going "holy shit!" When her got to the IRW neck McCarty. I'd never played or heard of an all rosewood neck before, and he's got this huge smile, like "I know, right?" Needless to say, the daybni can afford one, I'm buying it there.

Awesome, awesome, awesome guitar. Congrats!
