New guitar, new forum
#1
I recently returned to a forum where I'd spent a lot of time. An NGD was arriving, so it seemed like a good time to get back to a certain pickup-themed forum.

I bought an 87 American Standard Strat, got a killer deal, and figured out worthy of a post. It made it less than one page before getting completely derailed into a 13 page shitstorm. Turns out said forum isn't what it once was. So, thanks to a couple other dissatisfied members, here I am.

I see a bunch of familiar names, so I stuck with mine from the last one, even though I've thought it was stupid for some time. Anyway, this place looks cool, and I'm looking forward to less drama.

Hey man, pleasure to see you here! IIRC we had a bit of overlap in our time on SD - I joined in January 2009 - and I've always liked what you had to say. Wilkommen! I'm Jordan.

And congrats on the guitar by the way, you got a hell of a deal. Did you really pay $350? That's crazy. I may have got a PRC CE24 for $200 last year, but that's a close second for best deal, and certainly the best one this year.

Its ok, we openly bash the Duncan forum and their shit moderation over here. Welcome and have fun.

And I saw your thread, thought it was a great deal but I had to refrain from posting. I had already found myself in hot water as the result of chaos in another thread.
Trust me, I'm a medical professional.

Thanks for the welcome. I'll post some pics later on. In the meantime, it's an '87, red with a black pickguard. Rosewood board. I was pleasantly surprised to find the previous owner put Texas Specials in it.

I paid $400 with the ohsc, so yeah. Not nearly as good as the $200 PRS, but I'm pretty happy.
