Alrighty. Shit just got real. The body arrived today, along with the pickups, I still have more testing to do as well as lots of planning, gotta get some more parts and hardware in.
I spent the evening drawing all over the body, then I noticed that I'd have to fill/re-drill the neck mounting holes on the neck, and that I'd have to re-size the neck P90 route. I mistakenly forgot to tell Mitch at KNE guitars that I was using a soapbar P90, and he routed it for a dogear/pickguard mount P90. Oops.
Anyway I have a lot of careful planning to do regarding the many many carves, as well as a lot of testing to do on the paint. I went to home depot and picked up more ash blocks to test on. I want to play around with the orange and try to darken it a bit and give it a bit more depth of colour, as well as try to make the transitions between the blues a bit better while at the same time seeing if I can work in a lighter blue into the lighter areas so it looks more watery and less sandy.
Anyway, onto the pics.
K, I'm gonna go order the last of the parts and then call it a night.
