There's a strange magic and I can't get it out of my head. Do ya turn to stone when you encounter the living thing?  Don't bring me down, Mr. Blue Sky.  Shine a little love on ELO because rock and roll is king!
Because I said so.

For the record they are saying "Don't let me down groose" not Bruce. People drove me nuts when that song would come on screaming BRUCE in my face. It got tired quick. I hate that fucking song.

Quote:A common mondegreen in the song is the perception that, following the title line, Lynne shouts "Bruce!". According to the liner notes of the ELO compilation Flashback, he is saying a made-up lyric, "Grroosss," which some have suggested sounds like the Bavarian expression "Grüß Gott." After the song's release, so many people had misinterpreted the word as "Bruce" that Lynne actually began to sing the word as "Bruce" for fun at live shows.[5]

One of our local sports commentators here , cops that all the time , still. [ Bruce Mcavaney ] There's even a segment on one show where he's introduced to that song playing.
