Whew. Ok...
Custom CSE chorus has arrived and it is intense. Gorgeous subtlety and sea-sick vibrato abound.
I bought Jordan's big green NYC board. That has arrived and I'm working on getting it set up (what pedals, what order, etc)
Power supply should be inbound soon (stand by for a review)
All I need after that are more cables to route everything the way I need it to function.
Speaking of, who's got a good lead on cables?
Anyway, it shouldn't be too much longer until I can join the Epic Pedalboard Club of Epicness.

Moreso in the feature set than performance. IME, the high quality power supplies (Cioks, Voodoo Labs, Decibel Eleven, T-Rex, among others) all offer excellent results - you won't be able to tell a difference sonically - but each one has different features.

Huge difference.
Isolated power, digitally regulated power, power sag (for fuzz boxes), voltage doubling for pedals that run fine on 9v but better on 18v, more current (ma) for pedals that can't typically be daisy chained, etc.
There's more to power supplies than most "PAF" clones to be honest. Lol

being a non-pedal sort of guy, is there that much of a difference in power supplies?
Huge in my opinion. I "sag" my MXR Dist+ and it sounds like a can of bees. Not a tone I want all the time but it works for some tones.

I have a spent a small fortune on cables to do my setup and I could still use some more. Ebay and Amazon but cheap cables will cause you nothing but trouble in the long run. You know I run a big power strip(12 plugs 4" apart) and daisy chain all the 9v stuff with extra warts for the 12v and 18v stuff. I am so far under the 250 to 500 dollars you will spend on power supplies with all of those options you are looking at.

The power supply situation is set in stone.
I just pulled the trigger on one of the planet waves cable kits for $49. That should guve me enough cable (with the help of the extra cable/connectors that Jordan donated to the cause) to connect everything.
Right now, I have the NS2, Drone Station, the chorus that John from CSE did up for me, DOD 401, TC Vortex, and the TC Alter Ego x4 all on the board with plenty of space for another fuzz, an OD (either a DOD 250 or MXR micro amp), another delay and possibly my old big box polychorus.
Picking pedals is a lot of fun, but quite taxing. This is going to be awesome once it's finished.

Or, throw the Cathedral at the end of the chain so I can hide behind a wall of reverb...

Choosing is always the hardest part when you have more then one of anything , you need to put them on the board and hear how they sound together and then move them around to different places and see if anything becomes better due to placement.

I am in the same boat and lately I have been plugging direct to the Marshall. I did take a few boost pedals to practice the other night but for the most part I am plugging in direct.

A good high end power supply will generally cover most of your needs ,the various brands have some minor differences in the end product. The more pedals you are trying to power the more complicated it becomes. For what it is worth , having a big board just offers more options and all that BS about it sounds better when you plug straight in is in your head mostly. All in how you set it up.Not really sure what your question is Darth but there is some more rambling stupidity for you.
