sorta/not really NGD

bought a new neck, new pickguard, new pickups and new electronics for my '62RI strat.  The neck is a licensced neck from WD music. It's got a 12" radius, jumbo frets, and a soft V profile. It's exceedingly comfortable and very well made. All I had to do was install the nut (Tusq XL), tuners and dress the fret ends.

The pickups are a set of custom humbucker sized P90s that I ordered from Tim Engel of Buddha Pickups. The neck is 7.5k A3/A4, and the bridge is 8.8k A2/A4. Running through just a 500k vol, 250k tone. I'm going to put a treble bleed on there too. The pickups are just great. Girthy humbucker-esque mids but with the vibe and snap of a nice strat single coil. I can quite easily switch between jazz, blues and straight up metal without compromising on the tone at all. It's really sweet.

I liked it more before. Now it looks like grandpas slippers with a hot tea looking at the sunset.

They are pretty awesome. my first set ever of P90 style pups, and I'm really glad with how they turned out seeing as i did most of the spec-ing out, with a bit of input from Tim. I left the wind and materials (except for the magnet choices) entirely up to him, though I did want a sorta hotter than vintage output level. In any case, the dude winds some mean pups. WAY more than worth the money.

It's a good thing I don't make gear choices to please you! :wwe: :toast:
