Off the topic a little - but along the lines of the Babicz...  I really like the way those bridges lock down.

I think a "Floyd" hardtail would be cool - but certainly overkill.  If I just had a milling machine... Actually, I think I can do it with a non-fine tuner Floyd and a chop saw.  But what a waste.  A tools free lock down of the string at the bridge would be really cool.

yeah i have thought of this too. height adjustment is the problem?

ChaOz on the SD had some individual bridges made using floyd saddles for a fanned fret guitar he did. Pretty neat if you ask me.

Only thing I can think of is Poplar that is a hardwood , Alder and Ash are both pretty light colored. No idea what kind of woods are available to you that I have never heard of either?
