New Pickup Day
#1
I actually got these earlier this week, but I didn't have a camera until today.

Anyway, I was getting bored with the pearly gates set in my neck thru Strat, so I decided to do something different. Enter my new P/S/S Strat set from Buddha pickups.

First off, I have to talk about the price. All three pickups cost 96 bucks shipped. That's cheap for mass produced pickups, but considering that these are hand wound to order and fully customizable... It's just ridiculously cheap.

You may notice that I'm only using a toggle switch to control 3 pickups. While that's technically correct , it's actually a Free-way 6 position switch. I mostly got it because I really don't like blade switches - I find them imprecise and easier to maneuver into the wrong position than they should be in the heat of the moment. So with this switch, I have all the normal stray positions plus the awesome sounding neck and bridge position.

I'll get to the tone in a later post. Right now I just want to brag about my new shit. Also thanks to Ryan for turning me on to these awesome pickups.

Congrats... Where's the obligatory link to the pickup makers site? huge grin

I've had bad luck with the 2 pole blade switches too, but 4 pole has been all good. Knock on wood.

BTW - You still need a TAPE DELAY! huge grin

Tim is a great guy to work with. I've only had these for the last 3 days but I really like them so far.

Dat body... Schweet!

Wonder what's its like compared to say one of the Vintage Reissues? Neck through intrigues me.

I actually want to go to guitar center and compare it to some off the rack guitars.

Chris and Devin are going.to play it in a few weeks so they can give you a less biased opinion.

3 pickups = Freeway 100% of the time , found those through researching the Jimmy Page wiring schemes over on Tonefiend. Now I just need to put the 3 mini humbuckers in the Vox or cut a hole in my LP Custom for a third pup. Some wonderful pieces and parts around these days that make life better!
