So in a nutshell, what's the difference between the Cu24 and the McC?

Neck pickup is going to sound a little different due to position - also a trem is going to make a difference..

Looking for the homeymoon huge grin quickie review.

Actually it's more that I got about a 50% raise, I'm working twice as much as I was a month ago, and I'm getting overtime too.

As far as the differences between the McCarty and the Custom 24 - it's not as big as you'd think actually. I brought it and my CE24 along to guitar center today to make the most informed choice possible. The CE24 was the warmest, the McCarty the brightest, and the CU24 was somewhere in the middle. The McCarty was noticeably heavier than the others due to the thicker body. But the Custom 24 was just so alive that I couldn't not get it. The pickups sound amazing too.

It's on layaway/police hold, and I won't have the cash to pick it up until the end of April (still have to pay off those Bergantino cabs I also have on layaway) but I don't mind waiting. I've got plenty of nice guitars to hold me over until then.

How heavy was your McCarty? Mine was 7.6 pounds - in the range of the typical Strat.

I don't remember weighing it, but it's probably in the 8-9 range. The Custom 24 is much lighter than the McCarty, and noticeably lighter than the CE24.
