This guitar is probably the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. These pictures don't do it justice.
I just wiped all the previous owner's DNA off of it and trying to decide whether to mess with the setup or leave it alone. It looks brand new, and it should since it is a 2015. It even still has the vinyl protective film on all the covers.
These Artists have almost too many pickup switching arrangements. Each pickup can be switched to parallel, series, or split. Even after years of trying, I am yet to find good uses for a lot of those combinations. Still, nice to know everything is right there if I do ever need anything other than a humbucker in the bridge.
Damn. I was going to spend this weekend building a speaker cabinet.
Someone should put that in their signature…

Build the cabinet anyways!
I've had a soft spot for those for a while now. Almost kick myself in the ass everyday for passing on one for $225 in a pawn shop. If it hadn't had stickers all over it I would have bought it.
It's hard to resist that setup. The tail piece just sets them off with double cut, and great looking tops.
A good set of pickups would finish off a badass stock guitar. Something in the medium output arena should do quite well. Add salt and pepper to taste, and enjoy.
I hear Mexico is nice this time of year.

I find that using those extra switches is a use it for the entire song sort of thing I generally set them to what sound the song requires when I go play with the crowds in the jam room. You get an approximation of a single coil that isn't bad usually turn the treble up a little and you should almost be there. Then again it might be because the 2 guitars I have setup that way have Tom Anderson pickups AND a blend knob. Some pickups just don't do well in split or parallel modes.

I missed my window of opportunity on good weather yesterday when I was glued to this guitar instead of working on projects around the house. But it has stopped raining, so we shall see...

I am a sucker for Artists. I have seen late model double cuts pop up occasionally for under $200 on the regurgitation wall at Guitar Denter, usually with upgraded pickups. I have a few in different vintages, including a '77 MIJ that weighs a metric tonne and has an unfortunate cigarette burn in the headstock. This one really caught my eye. The flame is exceptional - better than the one pictured on the Ibanez web site.
I think you are right though. This thing deserves a better set of pickups.
Did you really just convince me to sink more money into this guitar?

The Artist is my favorite style of guitar. That axe is fucking beautiful, Veggie.
Lemme know if you find another deal on the Ibby stuff, bro.

Not to be missed is the fact that it was inspected by "Dong."
