2014 SGJ upgrades

Yeah , you have no idea how much better a set of pups these are compared to the 490t/r that were in it. Good sounding before it is fantastic sounding now.Goes from really bright to pretty dark in the tone knobs range. The set in my 335 has alnico 2s and is perfect for that guitar but I think these might be an even better match to this guitar.Got to love a 3 week build time that takes a total of 4 days to arrive!

Pure PAFs stock output 8k bridge , 7.5k neck alnico 4 magnets , it sounds wonderful or better. Will be getting SS frets next week !

You really don't know how much you want it Bruce ,really. It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO nice ! Third SG in 2 years I have rebuilt , Jaye brought his 2002 over to compare them and I think this one is the best of the 3 by a good bit , until you get rid of the stock Gibson pickups in the 02. With the push/pull split option it gets pretty close to single coils.Those big fat SS frets make all the difference in the world for playability. probably going to rebuild a couple more SG's in the future too , I have an acquaintance and an old lefty friend that both want to get it done.Get a cheap one and follow my build plan and when you wear the frets off it go jumbo SS , you will be very happy.
