I just had to do it....

Its here!...  UPS must have been doing really well to get me my goods so early in the day...

It arrived right before 7PM!

Well got it going through headphones...  I know that's a compromise, so I guess I'll have to put it through the paces with the power amp to judge this thing.

I've really warmed up to the idea of owning one.

I can't wait to hear what you think of it.

Headphones - a little meh... But I was warned on that.

It was suggested to get a small mixer - and/or in ear monitors. I've got some Shure IEM's on the way so hopefully they will be here by Friday.

Effects wise, even though its not the big daddy, is pretty complete. No 4X chorus like the bigger unit, but does have 4 and 8 voice options. There's also the option of connecting my rack effects through a loop. huge grin

The big point of this is quiet practice (to get more time in), but is capable of so much more. As I remember Jolly's using an Eleven unit on at least some of his recordings and it sounds great.

Oh - I'm definitely seeing the benefit of going wireless on this rig. That might be the direction I go.

Try #3 - Getting it to sound 'quite a bit' better on phones - Also now bumping into CPU issues, but now finding I had external blocks running that were let's say redundant.

Just playing with a Deluxe preset with several effects after it.

In ears are here - had to make a trip to get an adapter to get them to work.

Much Improved!

CPU issues apparently due to hi-res speaker and reverb IR's. Switched over to regular - can't hear any difference.

The options are overwhelming!

Another progress report -

Its definitely convenient and sounds acceptable. Gotta budget that CPU, but my next wild idea is to use it for compression/drive/wah and put into a mixer using the PCM81 for reverb.

The biggest issue is its flexibility - there's a lot of options to tweak! You waste a lot of time tweaking.

Been playing with it most of the afternoon.

2 changes - no mixer, no outboard reverb. LOL Feeding the unit through my trusty compressor pedal.

Found a couple of mic cables. I got to order some more manageable ones soon - these are way long. Now I can get the levels a little more usable without clipping.

The other change is not using someone else's presets and tweaking.

Heck, there's more amp models than sample presets.

Had 2 things going that were really going on - it kept me occupied this afternoon! LOL.

Plexi with a Fuzzface model - not what I'd typically use. I liked that one with a 6L6 model of all things and HV tube clipping on the Fuzzface.
The other - a 65 Bassman with a "tape distortion" in front. Think I used a 4X12 EV model.

Dual delay on either one in parallel with a reverb. 1/4 and 1/2 triplets and some modulation. Small chamber reverb with long decay - level pulled way back.

Like I said, options are overwheming!

You can tweak forever , find things that work for you and use them (the settings).
