For the sixth consecutive year, ESPN will present live coverage of the NBA Draft – this year featuring a talent pool highlighted by Michael Beasley (Kansas State) and Derrick Rose (Memphis) – Thursday, June 26 at 7 p.m. ET from the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. Stuart Scott will host with college basketball analyst and Draft expert Jay Bilas and NBA analysts Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy. Additional contributors will include international basketball expert Fran Fraschilla; college basketball analyst Dick Vitale (via satellite); on-site reporters Ric Bucher and Andy Katz; on-site analysis and Draft pick interviews by Stephen A. This is it, the final weekend for the NBA Finals. Even if the series goes to 7 games, it will end on Thursday. The future HDTV weekend schedules look bleak, at least until the NFL kicks off it’s pre-season in August. Tune in to ABC-HD on Sunday to see if the Lakers even up the series, or the Celtics take a commanding lead. Maybe one more championship will make the Boston fans go away for awhile.
One pitcher came off the DL in a new role and lasted only one outing before going out for the rest of the season. Another pitcher left the bullpen to begin a new career as a starter, and got rocked in his first big league start. And yet another pitcher came off a long wait on the DL and did better than anyone could have anticipated.
A total of eight members of the Tampa Bay Rays and the Boston Red Sox have been suspended for their roles in the incidents that occurred on Wednesday and Thursday at Fenway Park in Boston. The eight suspensions total 38 games. Bob Watson, Vice President of On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement.
