The TMRzoo “Beat the House” Week 10 picks and predictions are live. In week 9, The House was beaten yet again. The House posted only 8 wins to the member’s 10.5. The Madden 09 simulation on the Xbox 360 had it’s first bad week in a while and only earned 6 correct picks. Get your week 10 picks in now and try your best to Beat the House and move up the TMR Leaderboard in the process.
I really can’t believe that we’re at week 10 already. It seems like only yesterday that the NFL season first kicked off in 2008. Nevertheless, it seems like most teams in the league are still playing rusty football.
I cannot really say I’m overly confident in any of this week’s picks. EVERY SINGLE game can go either way this week and I won’t be surprised. The only game I am even slightly confident in picking is Carolina over Oakland. The rest exemplify the very meaning of league parity.
Be careful what you wish for.
We have some decent division match ups as our prime-time games this weekend. The Philadelphia Eagles hosting the New York Football Giants should be a blast, as always (for non-fans of either team) to watch. The game will come down to who makes the least mistakes.
Monday night is another division match, but the teams are of lesser quality than Sunday night. Are the Cardinals ready to graduate to the next level? We’ll see on Monday if they can handle the Niners with ease.
The luckiest teams during week 10 seem to be the bye week teams. The rest will have to scratch and claw thier way to victory this week.
Remember, we have a Thursday night contest this week. As we have done in that past, voting will remain open until kickoff Sunday. If you enter you picks AFTER the Thursday game, you will not be qualified to win any of the weekly prizes.
Beat the House
The rules of “Beat the House” are easy… Each week, our resident football genius will predict the outcome of all the week’s games. You, the members, agree or disagree with the “House” picks in hopes to achieve a better set of picks for the week. If the collective membership predicts more games correctly, then the House is beaten and prizes are awarded. What prizes? You’ll have to read on below.
Every member’s total picks will be tracked over the course of the season and displayed on the weekly leaderboard. At the end of the season, the member with the most correct overall picks will be named the grand prize winner. (Grand Prize sponsor is yet to be determined.)
Sound easy enough? It is. The best part is that there are no entry fees and no obligations. All you have to do is register in the TMR forums because we track your picks using that screen name… so choose it wisely.
If the House is beaten, one random member will win a DVD prize pack containing at least 3-5 DVDs. The pack will include at least one current-release DVD. Be on the look out for special releases and box sets as well. Again, this is only awarded to a member IF the collective membership Beats that House for that given week.
The member with the most correct picks each week is guaranteed a new Pro Grip Football, courtesy of NERF. If more than one member leads the pack in any given week, ties will be broken by overall picks on the year. Winners can choose from 7 pre-selected NFL team footballs. Not all NFL teams are available.
Along with the transition to the new site comes an exciting twist to the weekly activities. After members have made their weekly game selections, it is time to participate in the “Visionman Players of the Week”. Members guess who they think will be named the offensive and defensive players of the week. If both of those players are named as the NFL players of the week for that specific week, the member is awarded a Widow WGMI-1NG700 Intel Gaming PC, pictured above, from Widow PC. Please, PLEASE read the official rules for this part of the contest… espeically the spelling part.

The Playboy.com Perfect Pick Set
Perfection is not easy to come by in the NFL… just ask the 2007 New England Patriots. If a member picks a perfect week, they should be rewarded. Our friends at Playboy and Playboy.com understand and appreciate perfection, so they will be awarding a full one-year subscription to the Playboy.com Cyber Club (a $240 value) to any member who guesses every game correctly in any given week. To be eligible for the Playboy.com Perfect Prize pack, you must be 18 years of age or older and must confirm that age using a valid credit card. Don’t worry, the membership is still on them.
So how does all that sound? All you have to do is register in the TMRzoo forums (if you haven’t already) and visit the Beat the House weekly picks page to make your selections. We’re very much looking forward to this ultimate version of “Beat the House” and I hope you are as well. Tune back in on Tuesday, and every Tuesday throughout the season, to see the updated leaderboard and where you rank against The House and the rest of the membership.
If you’ve missed out on weeks 1 through 9, don’t worry, you still can win all of the prizes described above. Enter Now!!
