Seattle, WA – August 11, 2009 – You can save $10 for a limited time on admission to the oldest, biggest and most diverse beer festival in the Northwest. Advance tickets for Fremont Oktoberfest’s 2009 Microbrew Tasting Garden go on sale August 15th* with tickets staying at the reduced price until September 1st. Just $15 will secure your admission, a souvenir Fremont Oktoberfest tasting mug celebrating the Simpsons 20th anniversary**, and tokens for six, 5-ounce beer tastes.
With over 70 microbrews on tap this year, guests will have the opportunity to find their favorite seasonal brew. New to the Northwest, Crispin Natural Hard Apple Cider will be sampled for the first time in Puget Sound area at Fremont Oktoberfest. Crispin has established themselves as the premier hard apple cider crafters in the Minneapolis and Chicago markets. In May the company decided to branch out to the Pacific Northwest and people have been savoring the naturally fermented apple blend that has no added sugar, colorants, malt or spirit alcohol. A fun twist on the traditional microbrews sampled at the festival.
Fremont Oktoberfest is one of the only places you can drink Lazy Boy Brewing Company’s extra strong The Stranger Big Double Trouble IPA. “People can’t wait to get their hands on this beer,” says festival organizer Phil Megenhardt. “Lazy Boy brings more and more kegs to the event each year.” Last year, the taps ran out of The Stranger Big Double Trouble on Sunday morning, so consider that added incentive to get an advance ticket and a head start on sampling all the festival has to offer including: the return of the Miss Buxom Contest, Brew HA-HA Comedy Show, and Cigar Lounge, along with the ever popular Tap House Grill Buxom Beer Garden and infamous Texas Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving Contest.
New to the event this year is a personalized tour of the tasting festival through the Fremont Oktoberfest iPhone application. Download the microbrew tasting guide starting September 1st at www.fremontoktoberfest.com for a full listing of what’s on tap. Once downloaded guests can create their tasting route by searching through the 70 plus microbrews on tap – all before entering the event on September 18th.
