Rookie running back GLEN COFFEE of the San Francisco 49ers and running back BEN JARVUS GREEN-ELLIS of the New England Patriots were the NFL preseason rushing leaders (249 yards). Rookie wide receiver HAKEEM NICKS of the New York Giants led the league in receiving yards (272). The leading passer was Green Bay Packers quarterback AARON RODGERS with a 147.9 rating.
The Detroit Lions finished the 2009 preseason with the top-ranked offense, averaging 394.0 yards per game. The Baltimore Ravens led the league in defense with a 236.8 yards-per-game average.
