NFL Week 8 Recap and “Beat the House” Results

wk8favreIn what is becoming a common occurrence, the House fell to the members again. It was only one game that was the difference-maker in week 8 though… Favre’s return to Green Bay. Both the membership and Madden 10 Sim picked 9 games correctly while the House tallied 8. The week brought the season total to 6 wins for the Members to a mere 2 for the House. Tune back in on Thursday for the week 9 pics and predictions.

The season stats so far are:

* The House Madden Sim Members
Week 8: 8-5 9-4 9-4
2009 Overall: 74-42 45-51 82.5-33.5

As mentioned, it was Princess Favre’s grand return to Green Bay that was the only House pick that was disagreed with. The House tends to favor who SHOULD win over reality sometimes and a ballbag like Favre completely deserved to lose that game. The House took one on the chin for superfandom this week… don’t forget it.

A few other games were close to the 50/50 mark in voting but no others fell into the disagree range. Another loss for the House sends it into a deeper hole as we are at the halfway point in the season.

game ballWe had another great week by another member that is no stranger to the top of the weekly and yearly leaderboards. Member desert11 once again reigned supreme and was the only member who picked 12 games correctly, 1 shy of a perfect week. He’ll get both the DVD prize pack AND the Nerf football for week 8. Congrats to another year of great picks. If you forget to make your picks next week, and the House picks the games 100% correctly, you’ll still be ahead of him.

The second part of our competition, the Nickent Players of the Week, will be decided on Wednesday when the NFL announces the top performers for week 8. The prize is a full set of golf clubs and we actually had a winner in week 1. The odds are on your side, so go for it!

Tune back in on Thursday morning to once again agree or disagree with the House’s NFL week 9 picks and predictions.
