That’s it. After nine weekly wins on the season, the Membership has clinched total wins in “Beat the House” for the 2009 season. Even if the House wins out, the members will win 9-8. During Thanksgiving week, the House gambled on losses for the two perfect teams… and lost. The members won week 12 by a score of 13 to 11. The Madden 10 sim tied the membership with 13 correct picks out of 16. As mentioned, the week brought the season total to 9 wins for the Members to 3 for the House… with only 5 more weeks to go. Four games were disagreed with in week 12, two on Thanksgiving, 1 on Sunday and 1 on Monday. The Thanksgiving games were split with the House losing on the Oakland pick, but picking the Broncos correctly.
On Sunday it looked like the House pick of the Texans was a good one… until the Colts came alive in the second half. Loss #2 for the House. Then, on Monday night, Drew Brees proved he’s possibly the best QB in he league right now by shredding the Patriots defense… with relative ease. The House thought Bill had some tricks up his sleeve, but unless he could dress 14 defensemen, he had no chance.
Once again we had several 14-game winners this week, but only one can win the DVDs and football. With 126 correct picks on the season rokdaddy2k is our week 12 champion. Good job.
The second part of our competition, the Nickent Players of the Week, will be decided on Wednesday when the NFL announces the top performers for week 12. The prize is a full set of golf clubs and we actually had a winner in week 1. The odds are on your side, so go for it!
The rules for voting are going to change this week. We are going to keep voting open from Wednesday until kickoff Sunday as usual, but you you enter picks after kickoff Thursday, you aren’t getting credit for that first game like in past weeks. Get your picks in!
