Finally there may be good news for Tiger Woods. The Boston Globe is reporting Robert Sormanti, 47, of Warwick, R.I who plays the role of “Pat Patriot,” the New England Patriots football team’s mascot, has been arrested in a Rhode Island prostitution sting. Could this be the news that pushes Tiger Woods off of the front pages of the sporting world?
With the exception of the recent announcement of Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady’s new baby there hasn’t been much good news out of Foxboro. The Patriots are coming off of a crushing defeat handed to them by The Miami Dolphins. This gives the perennial post season contenders 3 losses out of their last 4 games. Wednesday Coach Bill Belichick sent home 4 players for showing up to work late including offensive star Randy Moss and defensive washout Adalius Thomas. In the preseason things seemed picture perfect in New England. 14 weeks later things seem out of control in Foxboro.
Many are wondering is Sormanti’s arrest going to be too much of a distraction; can this team refocus without him? Could the latest new out of Foxboro be the deathblow for The Patriot’s season? Patriots spokesman Stacey James said in a statement “The individual in question has been suspended”.
So that leaves us with two questions. Can The Patriots survive this season without Robert Sormanti? Will this escort scandal be enough to take the focus off of The Tiger Woods Scandal?
