Fuller’s Vintage Ale Is Back With A New Hop

Looking for the perfect gift for those tough-to-shop-for friends and family? The highly anticipated and limited edition 2010 Fuller’s Vintage Ale is the ideal gift and back with a new hop. Hand-numbered bottles have been filled with an aromatic and satisfying ale that has been dry hopped during fermentation and processing using Goldings and Target Hops. Fuller’s Vintage Ale, is so unique that it is often collected like a fine wine and enjoyed years after purchase.

Crafted with the year’s finest ingredients, Fuller’s Vintage Ale is bottle conditioned and never pasteurized. This traditional British ale process allows the slow, natural cask-style fermentation to continue in each bottle of Fuller’s Vintage Ale. The 2010 Vintage was brewed for the second year running with Tipple variety malted Barley. “Tipple is a recent introduction of a spring malting Barley that has been impressive in the brew house and gives a depth of flavour to the Vintage,” said Fuller’s Master Brewer, John Keeling.

This year’s offering is hopped with fine Fuggles and Goldings as bittering hops with Goldings used for late copper hop addition. Brewed under the watchful eye of Keeling, Fuller’s 2010 Vintage Ale will have an initial fruit aroma with notes of pear and orange giving through to floral notes, followed by a clean, full, almost liquored initial palate. The finish is dark orange and satisfying.

Because of the active yeast that remains after filling in each Fuller’s bottle, the taste of Vintage Ales matures throughout its five to seven year life expectancy, much like cask ale. These constant flavour changes are part of the savoury romance of Fuller’s Vintage Ale and its bottle-conditioning.

This is the ideal gift for the beer aficionado, the guy who has everything or as a holiday hospitality gift for everyone who appreciates the finer libations in life. Fuller’s Vintage Ale is available through finer retail stores priced between $7.99 – 10.99 per bottle and gift-boxed in its own dark red carton that has no need to be wrapped.
