Fuller’s Bengal Lancer Returns To Pumps In November

By popular demand, Fuller’s Bengal Lancer will be making a return to pubs this autumn as part of London brewer Fuller’s exciting seasonal range.

Unveiled for the first time in February 2010, Bengal Lancer is a full-bodied, traditional India Pale Ale and its rich, spicy notes have proved very popular with drinkers. The cask version will be exclusive to selected Fuller’s pubs in November before being available in the free trade.

Bottled Bengal Lancer has been available permanently in Waitrose and Sainsbury’s since launch and has been selling extremely well. The beer’s bright, bold branding makes it stand out on the shelf, or the bar.
Managing director of the Fuller’s Beer Company, John Roberts, said: “Bengal Lancer was an instant hit when it was launched in February and has quickly become an established favourite in the Fuller’s portfolio. The bottled version has been doing very well in supermarkets too and we are delighted to be bringing cask Bengal Lancer back.

“The reaction from our customers was more than we could have hoped for and shows how much interest there is in quality, crafted cask ales. Drinkers are looking for more depth and flavour and the great stable of beers we have at Fuller’s, including the UK’s number one cask ale London Pride, the multi award-winning ESB and legendary bottled Vintage Ale, are all performing well as a result.

Fuller’s head brewer, John Keeling, added: “I’ve added the bottled Bengal Lancer to my Head Brewer’s tastings and it has gone down a storm every time. Customers are always asking when it was coming back so I’m delighted that I’ll be able to use cask Bengal Lancer.

“If you haven’t tried the beer before I would suggest you locate your nearest Fuller’s pub, check if they’re stocking Bengal Lancer, and take yourself down there for an hour or so. Or if you have the time, try it with a meal. The refreshing zest of the English hops makes it the perfect accompaniment to spicy food.”
