FOX continues to ratchet up the stupid, scaring stupid people with stupid assumptions with no basis in reality whatsoever.
This time, El Paso’s Local Fox News outlet, KFox14, is making claims that five year old children could possibly purchase Thrixxx’s Kinect porn game, XXXLab, and that Edwin Valverde, a young toddler, could be exposed to the virtual rubbing, convincing his mother Angelica and his grandfather that somehow, Edwin could get access to it.
Of course, there are a few obvious problems with this:
- 1. XXXLab is a tech demo
- 2. It wasn’t developed for the Xbox 360, it’s for modded PCs that can use Kinect.
- 3. Microsoft has not given permission for the game
- 4. It’s not available for purchase
This hasn’t stopped FOX from quoting Angelica stating that Kinect is “inappropriate, especially when these games are geared towards younger children. You see the commercials on the Disney channel on Nickelodeon of course they’re going to want them.”
Wow, maybe FOX should attack Disney and Nickelodeon for airing porn video game commercials during Hannah Montana and iCarly!
But the coverage gets even more laughable with the entrance of Edwin’s grandfather, Martin, “who purchased the Kinect, nervously laughed as he watched a preview for the new adult game.”
Later, Angelica stated with all the intelligence of a parent who’s never touched a videogame in her life: “Anybody can get on-line with the Xbox 360. It’s a possibility he could be able to buy it without me actually knowing.”
Of course, there are parental locks on the xbox 360, and you can’t just purchase anything you want on the Xbox 360, especially games for modded PCs. Maybe she should be concerned that with all her parenting skills, her credit cards are not safe from her 5 year old kid. Maybe in El Paso, 5 year olds can by cigarettes and liquor, too.
