The NCAA had their big announcement special on Sunday evening… the official kickoff to March Madness. Of course, the reactions to the seeding did not go without immediate controversy. The #1 seeds were Kansas, Kentucky, Duke and Syracuse, with many saying Syracuse did not earn a #1 seed.
The other three teams won their respective conference tournaments, while the Orange had an early exit from the Big East Tournament as starting center Arinze Onuaku suffered a leg injury… and isn’t expected to start in the first game of the tournament.
The tournament starts Tuesday with an opening-round game between Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Winthrop, then it goes into full swing Thursday.

The big thing these days seems to be the “announcement special.” The NCAA made a big to-do over the announcement of the seedings, but the biggest offender, by far, is the NFL. The schedule announcement special, the Pro Bowl announcement special, the weekly suspension announcement special… we all get sucked into that crap too and watch.
