The latest incarnations of Fender’s acclaimed American Deluxe series bass guitar models are designed to deliver high-tech cutting-edge tone, tradition and innovation to the modern bassist.
All three instruments—the American Deluxe Precision Bass, American Deluxe Jazz Bass and American Deluxe Jazz Bass V—are conceived as tonally sophisticated modern iterations of these timeless instruments. All feature a wealth of groundbreaking advances, including powerful-yet-quiet new N3 Noiseless™ pickups, improved electronics that result in increased headroom and tighter low-end response, and an active/passive toggle switch and passive tone control (for passive mode).
All three also feature an A-string “stealth” string retainer on the headstock (low B string on the Jazz Bass V model), high-mass vintage bridge, tinted neck with Posiflex™ graphite neck support rods and contoured heel for easier access to upper frets, five-bolt neck plate, rolled fingerboard edges, highly detailed fret work and genuine bone nut, flat head battery compartment screws (for changing easily using a coin or pick), and black pearl or white pearloid fretboard inlays (dot inlays on Precision model, block inlays on both Jazz models).
Both Jazz Bass models have classic-looking neck binding. And in a major new first for a Fender bass guitar, the Jazz Bass V model boasts a compound radius fingerboard and asymmetrical neck profile for fast action and smooth playability all the way up the neck.
