Sony PlayStation Network Due to Return on May 3…Enjoy Your Weekend

For gamers wanting to know, “When will PSN be up again?”, Sony Corporation (ADR) (Public, NYSE:SNE) has announced that “some” PSN services will be up and running “within a week from yesterday” (April 26), which would target May 3, which is when new PSN content would be released, including the awaited demo for Red Faction: Armageddon, and would allow the inFamous 2 beta to start.

Sony communications boss Patrick Seybold apologized:

“First off, we want to again thank you for your patience. We know that the PlayStation Network and Qriocity outage has been frustrating for you. We know you are upset, and so we are taking steps to make our services safer and more secure than ever before.

“We sincerely regret any inconvenience or concern this outage has caused, and rest assured that we’re going to get the services back online as quickly as we can.”

It’ll also allow PS3 gamers to finally enjoy some Portal 2 co-op (with their PC buddies, too) and some online Mortal Kombat, two major games released on April 19 that were active online for about 8 hours or so before PSN went down.
