PlayStation Network Outage Update: PSN Store Returning May 24?

A memo has reportedly been sent to publishers and developers from Sony Corporation (ADR) (Public, NYSE:SNE) stating the PlayStation Store will re-open on May 24. In the memo, obtained by Gamasutra, Sony unveils plans to do two content pushes per week for the next two weeks to catch up with the backlog of content.

PSN content manager Jack Osorno wrote to developer partners:

“We thank you for your patience as we work to resume service of the PlayStation Store.”

This will begin a torrent of PSN games that were forcibly delayed due to the outage. The first set of games will be released on the 24th, which will be the games that were due April 26. Three days later the games that were originally scheduled for May 3 will be released. From May 31 to June 3, three weeks worth of games will be released.
