Week 1 of the 2011 NFL season is already in the book and it was a pretty uneventful start to the new season. Uneventful if don’t like 63-yard game-winning field goals, 500+ yard passing games or the past two Super Bowl Champions not dressing their defenses while playing each other.
The first week of every season is always incredibly hard to pick. A good team from last season usually turns to shit and a dark horse team starts the season off with a few upset wins. To kick off our latest edition of “Beat the House” the surprising nature of kickoff weekend reared its head as the best pick set for the week was 12. Typically it is in the 14 range.
The goal is for the members to Beat the House, and that they did to the tune of 9 correct picks to 7. That means the member with the best pick set gets a prize pack! We did have a tie at the top of the leaderboard with those 12 picks by C_hawkfan and smackstein. Since both are longtime members and participants in “Beat the House”, we will forgo the tie-breaker and award each of them a movie prize pack.
