Here we are. The final set of games for the 2011 NFL regular season. Oh, how far we’ve come in what seems to be a short amount of time. Our Week 17 “expert” NFL picks and predictions have been posted and are available for your viewing pleasure on our “Beat the House” contest page. This will be your last chance to win some prizes during the regular season. Of course, you’ll have four more chances to win in our round-by-round playoff pool. More on that below.
Week 16 was a push in our little competition here. Both the membership and The House notched 11 wins on the week, so therefore the House was not beaten and a prize pack cannot be awarded. After 16 weeks, the total weekly tally on the year is also tied, with both the House and members each getting 7 weekly wins a piece. The other 2 unaccounted for wins go to the Madden simulation, which had the best pick set for those two weeks.
It looks like it is all coming down to the final week. After having a dreadful first half of the season, the House snapped into shape and hardly lost in these past 8 weeks. Once it became clear which teams were the real deal, the House started hitting the picks out of the park. Winner takes all in week 17. Enter your picks now!!
Every single game is being played on Sunday in week 17, so there is no need to worry about getting your picks in before a Thursday or Saturday game. Just get them in by kickoff on Sunday and all is well.
The final tallies for week 16 and the updated season stats are:
The overall tally in 2011 now is Members 7, House 7, Madden NFL Sim 2.
Again, this is it! Your last chance during the regular season to snag some swag. Enter your picks now so you don’t forget during the Holiday rush!
Once the regular season comes to a close, the TMR Zoo will be kicking off its annual playoff pool. Unlike other “pick the playoffs” pools, we are going to accept entries after EACH ROUND. You will be awarded points for each round, so there will be a winner of each round and then a grand prize winner for the entrant you accumulated the most points over all three rounds. Stay tuned for details next Monday when the contest launches.
We hope you have enjoyed playing the 2011 edition of “Beat the House”. Good luck and we’ll see you in the payoffs!
