Pop icon Robin Gibb joins his late brothers Andy and Maurice after a long battle with cancer. Robin was part of the Bee Gees with his brothers Maurice and Barry. The Bee Gees were the soundtrack of the seventies, they were most heralded for their critically acclaimed contributions to the movie soundtrack “Saturday Night Fever”.
The movie launched John Travolta’s career, the soundtrack made the Gibb brothers a household name. Hits like “Night Fever”, “Jive Talking” and of course the number one Billboard hit ” Stayin’ Alive” flooded the airwaves.
His spokesperson released a statement that reads, “The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.”
Barry Gibb is now the last surviving Gibb Brother, our thoughts and prayers go out to him. Sleep well Robin thank you for the hits.
