Sunday Night NFL Football Preview: New England Patriots vs. Baltimore Ravens

I couldn’t think of a better matchup for a Sunday Night Football week 3 game. Both teams are considered among the best in the NFL, both are coming off of a heartbreaking week 2 loss. New England Patriots nearly walked away with a win against the Arizona Cardinals in week two. All the Pats needed were for Mr. Automatic Stephen Gostkowski to kick a chip shot to seal the deal. Be it a bad hold or bad luck the ball sailed to the left of the post wide giving the Arizona Cardinals a huge upset win.

It was not just bad luck that prevented the New England Patriots from walking away with the win. The New England Patriots offense especially the offensive line was not the squad we have grown accustomed to watching. The Arizona Cardinals continuously hurried Tom Brady and were able to sack him 4 times. This pressure on Tom Brady resulted in 10 third-down stops.

The Baltimore Ravens defense will be without the talents of sack master Terrell Suggs Sunday Night. Still I do not think the Patriots offensive line will be able to handle the Baltimore Ravens pass rush. Where the Patriots may have a chance in domination this game is against Baltimore’s secondary. Yes, Ed Reed is a stud but he cannot be everywhere.  By keeping the ball away from Reed the Philadelphia Eagles’ Michael Vick to threw for 371 yards last week. If Tom Brady gets the time to throw the ball this week his receivers have to make the catches. Drops and missed balls last by Wes Welker and Rob Gronkowski were huge factors last week. To quote Mrs. Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen after the Super bowl loss to the New York Giants “My Husband Cant F*cking Throw and Catch the Ball”

Most Vegas lines show spread of New England Patriots -3 over the Baltimore Ravens and the under and over set at 43 points. I like the Baltimore Ravens and the points. The key to this game is getting to Brady, I am betting Tom Brady spends a lot of time on his back Sunday Night staring up at the lights.
