AdamEve.com, America’s most trusted source for adult products, is never afraid to ask the hard questions when it comes to anything sexual. This month, Adam & Eve wanted to find out how many American adults had ever had a one night stand — and the answer may surprise you!
When Adam & Eve asked 1,000 American adults if they have ever engaged in a one-time, no-strings-attached sexual encounter, a whopping 58.1% admitted that they have. Of these positive respondents, 79% were male and 21% were female.
Dr. Kat Van Kirk, Adam & Eve’s resident sexpert, says these results are higher than expected, though not alarming. “There are many reasons people choose to have a one night stand,” says Dr. Kat. “From exploring one’s sexuality to a random hook-up outside a relationship… as long as both partners have the same expectations, a one night stand can be a positive release of sexual energy. Of course, safety is always a top priority.”
