Tonight’s Monday Night Football game is one to watch for a couple of reasons. Some may feel at the end of MNF to night The Chicago Bears will walk away with a free win. If you poke around online it seems to be the consensus on the Pro Football blogs. Let me tell you the Detroit Lions are not going to roll over and lay down for the Bears. I do expect the Chicago Bears to be on top early in this game. That will not prevent Matthew Stafford from streaming long balls down the field looking for the big play.
This division has the Vikings shocking everyone and the sleeping beast Green Bay Packers slowly starting to wake up. The Chicago Bears need to do everything they can to remain at the top of this division. Though their season is slipping away the Detroit Lions will do everything in their power to prevent that from happening.
Matt Safford has been inconsistent at best this year; still he needs to be considered a serious threat. If Matt and Megatron can find a rhythm the balance of the game can change very quickly. Detroit’s defense also has the ability to keep this team in a game if they can gel as a unit.
Simply said the Detroit Lions are probably the best bad team in the NFL this year. They have all the parts they just can’t seem to put them together. Expect this to be a low scoring smash-mouth old school NFC North battle. A battle that will deliver one more heartbreak to the Detroit Lions.
