CNN is reporting a new wave of cyber-crime is hitting the net. These new rings of online scam artists in Singapore are flooding social media sites with attractive young girls. The girls “friend” the victims and ultimately engage the victim in a webcam sex session. These seemingly FREE webcam cybersex sessions eventually come with a huge price tag.

The Singapore Police Force detailed the scam on their website – “They would commence a webcam conversation with the victims and initiate cyber sex by undressing themselves first before persuading the male victims to appear nude or perform sexual acts in front of the webcams,” They went on to report “Unknown to the victims, the suspects had recorded the acts.”

Once enough damming  sex video of the victim is collected, a ransom for the damning and embarrassing content is requested. TV station HD 5 in Taiwan has posted this video on how the  webcam sex scam works works. In a nutshell –  The girls get guys to jack it online, then the girls jack the guy’s bank account.
