Former Tennessee Titans cheerleader Elizabeth Leigh Gardner who found media fame as one of the oldest cheerleader in the NFL has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12 yr old boy . Gardner who was a 38 year-old cheerleader when on the Tennessee Titians squad was almost 20 years older than her counterparts on the squad.
Elizabeth Leigh Gardner told NewsChannel 5 in Nashville ” she is innocent of the charges brought against her.” The Nashville CBS TV affiliate reported – She was indicted on charges stemming from an incident at a friend’s home. She’s accused of following a 12 yr old boy into the bathroom, fondling him, and trying to seduce him.
The Murfreesboro police department issued a statement that Elizabeth Leigh Gardner claimed “that she was drunk that evening and that she got the boy confused with a man that was also at the residence”. One police department member rebuffed the assertion of innocence saying “That’s just absolutely no excuse for sexual assaulting a child. If you can’t tell the difference between a 12-year-old and an adult then there are problems”.
The Tennessee Titians had no statement on the situation seeing Elizabeth Leigh Gardner has had no association with the team for quite some time.
