The highest draft pick from the 2013 NFL draft (to date) is officially an NFL player as Luke Joeckel signs his contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The contract has been reported as a 4-year deal worth $21.2M and is fully guaranteed. According to an Adam Schefter Tweet, he will make more than the first overall pick, Eric Fisher, since there is no state income tax in Florida and Fisher’s deal has a maximum limit per the revised collective bargaining agreement.
Joeckel is expected to come in, start and make an huge impact for the Jaguars on day one… which shouldn’t be that hard since they won all of two games last season.
Since three of the first four picks overall in the 2013 Draft were offensive tackles (Philadelphia Eagles selected Lane Johnson at #4), the three players will be forever compared to see which team made the best selection.
