On Friday, we reported that there were only four NFL players from the first round of the 2013 draft that have not signed their rookie contracts yet. Since three of those four signed over the weekend, we now know the correct answer in our “First Picked/Last Signed” NFL Draft contest.
It was Eric Fisher (Kansas City Chiefs), seventh overall pick Jonathan Cooper (Arizona Cardinals), and ninth and tenth overall picks Dee Milliner (New York Jets) and Chance Warmack (Tennessee Titans) that hadn’t agreed to deals with their teams yet. Come Monday morning, it was only Chance Warmack that didn’t have a contract yet. Therefore, he is the winner of our 2013 contest.
Warmack was the 10th overall pick in the draft and first of the Tennessee Titans. He is an offensive guard out of Alabama. Chance has been holding out of camp until a deal gets done and has missed four practices already. The Titans aren’t holding camp today, so there is still a chance the contract terms are agreed on and he is at work on Tuesday.
Chance is expected to start for Tennessee this season, he took first-team reps in the offseason program, so any more missed time could put a damper on the plans the titans had for the O-line in 2013.
