You can’t get any more ordinary than this NFL week 5 Thursday night Football offering. The Cleveland Browns hosting the Buffalo Bills? Who picked this? If you care, the game will be broadcast on the NFL Network and also via a free week 5 streaming option, live online, to select internet providers. SiriusXM satellite radio will be streaming live audio as well.
When the Browns traded running back Trent Richardson it appeared they were intentionally going to tank the rest of the season in order to get a high 2014 Draft pick. In typical Browns fashion, they couldn’t even do that correctly. The Browns have won both of their games since the trade, improving their 0-2 record to 2-2. Last week they held the division-rival Bengals to only 6 points. Who knows what the Browns are trying to do, but another win is not out of the question tonight.
As for the Bills, they are coming off an upset victory themselves after defeating the Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens to the tune of 23-20 in week 4. They enter tonight’s contest also with a 2-2 record behind 2013 first round draft pick E.J. Manuel.
To be honest, Thursday Night Football has not been impressive at all this year so far. The most probably reason that we are seeing these two teams tonight is that the NFL has mandated that every team play at least one game on Thursday… so you might as well get two ho-hum teams out of the way in the same week.
