Last week saw a continuation in our slump, a slump that even rolled over into Riots Rundown. A slump that even rolled into my Beat the House Pick-em contest. That’s okay though, cause we are still floating around even a6 6-7 and -1.6 units. This week is the perfect time too. We went 3-7 in the rundown and that drops the total to 29-14.
On to Week 5!
New Orleans Saints @ Chicago Bears +1.5:
If you are looking at this game and going: “Well, Bears got crushed by Lions last week, Saints crushed Miami, Miami is a good team… therefore… the Saints will beat the Lions!” Congratulations and welcome to Over-Reaction Sunday! The Saints have looked really well at home, in the safety of their dome, but they really struggled in their lone road game this season (a minor miracle to help them beat the lowly Buccaneers.) I like Cutler to bounce back and I like the Bears defense to rise up to the challenge. Bears win! Bears +100 3 Units
Denver Broncos @ Dallas Cowboys +7:
Remember what I just said about Over-Reaction Sunday? Forget about it! The Dallas secondary does not do well in their zone coverage. They were shredded by Phillip Rivers and Eli Manning in the 2nd half of their games. They have a great pass rush though, but it will have to be operating on all four cylinders if they are going to slow down the Broncos offense. Peyton Manning was built to pick apart zone defense with his dink-and-dunk passes. I think Dallas will go toe to toe with them at first and then Denver will pull away. Hopefully Dallas gets a few garbage points and I think this game goes over 55.5 total. OVER 55.5 -110 to win 3 Units
Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants -2:
It’s been a rough season thus far for these two NFC East rivals. The Giants looked like they were poised to have a comeback Week 1 vs. Dallas, that fell short and it has been all downhill from there. The Eagles took out the Redskins Week 1, but it has been nothing but disappointments since then. The key to this matchup will be the running game. The Eagles run the ball very well with McCoy and Vick. The Giants are horrible against the run. Newton carried for 7 times, got 45 yards and a TD for his efforts. Even Alex Smith ran 7 times for 37 yards, Vick is a better scrambler than those two, I think the Eagles put up numbers that the Giants can’t match!
