NFL Week 7, 2013 Picks, Predictions and Stone Cold Locks – Against the Spread, Totals and Money Line

When Tom Brady connected on a touchdown with mere seconds left in the game, it didn’t just crush the Saint’s, he it crushed everybody who had money on the Saints! Our pick seemed like a lock after Drew Bree connected on an impossible pass for a touchdown and Brady through a pick. Themes the brakes though. We also learned that the Bucs are worse than we thought and the Steelers are bad, they are just better than the Jets. Whelp. It was a costly lesson to learn as we went 0-3, lost 11.6 units and dropped our year to date back in the red at 8-11 and -7.95 units. The bright spot was the other games, Riot’s Rundown went 8-3 and that brings the year total to 44-21.  Let’s get to this week.

Chicago Bears @ Washington Redskins +1: This game opened up with the Redskins as the favorites and betting action has pushed the line towards the Bears, whom are now favored. I understand that home field advantage is highly underrated in the NFL, but so are match ups. Cowboy’s return man Dwayne Harris torched the Redskins special teams last week, imagine what Hester has in store. The Bears have a solid run defense and are going to force RG3 to pass. He may get some big throws, but I think the Bears defense will get some INT’s. I also like the Bears offense against these Skins defenders. I take the Da Bears! Chicago -115 to win 3 units.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Atlanta Falcons -6.5: It is do or die for the Falcons. Jackson and Jones are hurt, so that means more pressure on Ryan. However, they are coming off of their bye week and facing one of the worst teams in the NFL right now. The Bucs seem to crumble as a team when they get late opportunities. I think the Atlanta rush defense will slow Doug Martin and force Glennon to beat them. I like Atlanta’s odds. I am willing to put my season on the line with Atlanta here. Let’s take the Moneyline! Atlanta -275 to win 5 units.

San Francisco -3 @ Tennessee Titans: These teams are more similar than you might think. After going off Week 1 vs the Packers, Kaepernick has slowed down in the passing game, and the Titans had quite the efficient passing game until Locker went down. Now the two teams rely on Defense and a solid run game to win games. I think that the 49ers should win this game, but Tennessee always makes things tough on their opponents. I think this game starts slow and picks up some speed in the second half. I am thinking 24-21. That’s more than enough to cover the 40.5 point spread. OVER 40.5 to win 3 units.

Riot’s Rundown 44-21: Bold team to win

Bengals @ Lions
Bills @ Dolphins
Patriots @ Jets
Cowboys @ Eagles
