Here we we are. After 16 weeks of both the expected and the highly unlikely coming into fruition, we are at the doorstep of the final week of the 2013 NFL Season. As we recently reported, most of the NFC playoff picture is going to come down to this final week of games on the schedule. Not a single division in the NFC is decided yet, but a few teams have locked up at least wild card spots.

Just like the NFC, the playoff picture in our Beat the House NFL pick’em contest is far from set. The top 60 players in the current standings all are within a week’s worth of picks from the top spot. We also have the final wild card playoff spot to give away in week 17. So, if you haven’t even entered Beat the House this year at all, you still have a chance to steal a playoff spot and get into the playoffs by winning week 17… where you can win a pair of tickets to the Super Bowl at the Meadowlands.

All you have to do is review our NFL week 17 picks, then enter your own. The entrant who get the most picks correct (after any tie-breakers if necessary) will get a wild card playoff berth.
Beat the House Week 17 Playoff Picture and Prizing:
In case you haven’t been paying attention, just like the NFL season, you play the regular season with the intention to get into the playoffs. Once you are in, your season record is dropped (unless a tie-breaker is needed) and playoff picks are all that matters.
The 10 best pick records on the season (after tie-breakers if necessary) earn playoff berths. Six additional wild card contestants also make the playoffs, for a total of 16 playoff spots. Five of those spots are already locked up and the final is your for the taking. All contestants earning playoff spots will be notified at the email address they registered for the contest with.
If you earn one of the 16 playoff spots, you should start thinking about your arrangements for the Super Bowl.
The top 16 will be asked to make picks for the first round of the playoffs. After the round 1 NFL playoff results are in, the field will be cut in half down to eight and the same chain of events will happen for round two and the field will be cut down to the final four.
The final four should really start thinking about and making plans for travel and lodging to the Super Bowl. We will only be providing the tickets. The final four will all win a pair of high-quality sunglasses courtesy of Maui Jim. They will then be asked to make their picks for the games and other scenarios for the conference championship games in order to determine our 2013 NFL Beat the House contest winner.
The overall winner will receive tickets to Super Bowl 48 at the Meadowlands in New Jersey, directly from Crown Royal.
