HBO has released 20 new posters and a new teaser video promoting the upcoming season opener of Game of Thrones Season 4. The posters (as can bee seen below) feature black and white images, with some red highlights, of many of the main characters. Other than “GOT 4.6, denoting the season four debut date, the only other text is “Valar Morghulis”.
Per A Wiki of Ice and Fire, “Valar Morghulis” translates to “all men must die” in High Valyrian. It is a customary saying in Essos, and is traditionally answered with “valar dohaeris.”
The posters were released via the Game of Thrones Twitter feed, and can also be viewed by clicking the thumbnails below. As of the time we posted this, posters were still being released, so there may be more to come.
Last week, HBO released a Game of Thrones Season 4 trailer #2 full of tasty little sneak peeks. This week, a 30-second spot entitled “Stark Family Teaser” was released courtesy of IGN. Both video can be viewed embedded below the poster thumbnails.
