MY GENTLEMEN’S CLUB REVIEWS HAVE GONE INTERNATIONAL! Yes, during my recent trip to Sexhibition in Manchester, UK, I was fortunate enough to check out several of the city’s finest gentlemen’s clubs, reviews for the rest I’ll be posting on CJAsher.com over the coming weeks. I arrived at Silks, a fun, trendy club with attractive dancers and reasonable prices, at around 10:15pm on a Saturday evening. As with all of my gentlemen’s club reviews, I rated the club on a scale of one to five stars, with five being the best possible score. Oh, and as this is an “international version” of my gentlemen’s club reviews, I’m using the British Pound symbol “£” for all prices, so be sure to check currency conversion rates before you go.
Location & Facilities – 4.5 Stars
Silks Manchester, one of the club chain’s two locations – the other being in Leeds – is conveniently located in Central Manchester, near Manchester City Council, Albert Memorial, Red’s True Barbecue next door and across the street from The Slug and Lettuce Restaurant. No, that wasn’t a typo. After I showed my photo ID and paid the £10 cover, I entered the one-story club, which features one main stage, two poles, one bar, four flat screen TV’s and an abundance of silk curtains which added to the quality ambiance of the club. The DJ played mostly hip-hop music, and the dancer to customer ratio was pretty much even. The one thing that made this club exceptional was the privacy of the couch dance rooms and the flat screens in the VIP rooms… a rare amenity, even in the United States where this perk is usually only found in high-end clubs.
Staff – 5 Stars
While I didn’t interact much with the staff at Silks, I found the front door attendant, bartenders, floor manager and security to all be extremely professional and courteous.
Food & Drink – 4 Stars
While the club doesn’t serve food – typical for all Manchester gentlemen’s clubs – the bar was well-stocked with a variety of drink options including both imported and domestic beer. I enjoyed a Malibu and pineapple juice for £4.50; one of the lowest drink prices I found in the city.
Dancers – 5 Stars
While the club doesn’t offer any feature dancer appearances, the dancers that were on shift during my visit were all very attractive, trending on the younger side and many of which were of Eastern European descent; a common theme among the several Manchester clubs that I visited. I spent the majority of my visit with Anna, a beautiful Romanian dancer who was both an amazing conversationalist as well as a very sensual dancer. I did have the privilege of witnessing some poor guy on stage getting whipped with his own belt by both the dancers and his friends in what appeared to be his stag (bachelor) party… but don’t worry, he was certainly enjoy himself, as was everyone watching at his expense.
Value – 5 Stars
Silks offers some of the best value for gentlemen’s clubs in Manchester, from the entry fee to the bar prices to the private dances, which range from £20 for 5 minutes up to £240 for an hour.
