I mean, they are both in the High Output class of DiMarzios. not like you're comparing it to the EJ Custom bridge, with 1/2 the mV output. I went into this thinking I wouldn't be able to tell much of a difference in output. I can tell the difference, but's minor. The D Activator is slightly less tight and it's got a smidge more aggression in the mids. Take all of this with a grain of salt, because the D Activator is in a 7 string rosewood fretboard 25.5" scale guitar, but the Titan is an a 6 string ebony fretboard 27.7" guitar that has a much thicker body. I took the unplugged sound difference into consideration when comparing the two pickups, however. RE: I finally got the Titans installed correctly. - youngthrasher9 - 06-02-2015 Don't get me wrong, I love both. I might get another one of these guitars down the road and put a D Activator in it. I can't really say one is better than the other, they're just different. RE: I finally got the Titans installed correctly. - youngthrasher9 - 06-02-2015 Let's try this again. Same as last time: Titan>Joyo TS>Theta https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B4Fsn8UHnvrDZFRFZ0FveDJIYk0/edit?usp=docslist_api RE: I finally got the Titans installed correctly. - Big Flannel - 06-02-2015 My gmail appears to be temporarily unavailable. Shit. As Darth suggested, Take your time with small tweaks of the pickup height and poles. I can't wait to hear the clip. RE: I finally got the Titans installed correctly. - CTN - 06-02-2015 Chris, put it on google drive and then share it. Well, the uploading process was simple. We'll see if I did it right! That sounded like my country ass at the end when you said "that should do it". Sounded great man. I've had a set in one of my Charvels for two weeks now, however my lazy ass just hasn't hooked the wires up yet. I loved the tight bottom end on that recording. Hopefully I won't get too buzzed up this afternoon. I'm also tired as hell from busting my ass all week. Anyways, for a somewhat crappy recording, I thought everything sounded great and perfect for what I've been looking for besides my Blackouts. RE: I finally got the Titans installed correctly. - youngthrasher9 - 06-03-2015 You'll dig 'em. RE: I finally got the Titans installed correctly. - lilspud - 06-04-2015 I am running Transition in the bridge and Titan in the neck. (I have a transition in the neck on my desk) I love them man. I am highly interested in the Titan in the bridge. I saw that you had issues installing them... I installed the titan upside down at first.... did you do the same thing? I have a super five way switch wired to them. Bridge, inside coils together, Both, outside coils together (pretty), and neck Awesome recording man. I always sit in the hallway when I record to leave out the pick attack and string jangs. |
