3daddict Wrote:Sorry to double post but from what I can gather it appears the lockout was a benefit to the players but more importantly to the rank and file players and the older players. No longer will the newest players make the most. And the training sessions could be safer. Cool

The owners got their bigger slice too. It all worked out and with the only casualty of one exhibition game. Coincidence, huh?

The whole "only the fans lose" is even bull. The fans have lost nothing. The full schedule will be played and no team has the balls to raise ticket prices right now. Sure, the free agency period is condensed, but that is not for the fan's entertainment anyway.

I would so rather have Orton... looks like Palmer got fucked Huh?

One of the stranger aspects of a quieter-than-expected Tuesday: We saw only three rookie draft pick deals completed, and two of those contracts came from the Bucs.

Tampa G.M. Mark Dominik also became the first decision maker to close a deal with a first-round pick early. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that No. 20 overall pick Adrian Clayborn agreed to a contract early Wednesday morning. Clayborn is the highest pick to agree to a deal.

We anticipate an avalanche of other rookie signings in the coming days as teams get used to the new CBA rules and sort out their other free agency moves.

Then again, it’s possible some teams will put rookie deals on hold for a bit. It’s not like the kids have the option to go elsewhere.

More interesting rumors:

The Minnesota Vikings agreed Tuesday to acquire quarterback Donovan McNabb in a trade from the Washington Redskins, pending McNabb agreeing to new contract terms, league sources said.

Plaxico Burress got on a plane in Florida Tuesday night and flew to New York to meet with Giants coach Tom Coughlin Wednesday about the possibility of the former Giants receiver returning to the team.

Veteran free-agent quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has reportedly agreed to terms on a multiyear deal with the Tennessee Titans, sources confirmed to NFL Network’s Albert Breer on Wednesday.

The Dolphins have done absolutlly nothing?

They should have made a play for Hasselbeck. He would have been a good fit there.

Vince Young?

Vince Young?

I think Young is a better fit for The Fins option offense if he can keep his head bolted on straight.

When are you getting your Orton jersey?

I have no active Dolphins out of my 6+ game jerseys. Long shots for this year are my Williams #34 and Taylor #99 shirts. I don't want a Marshall #19 or Long #77. I am thinking about getting a custom shirt that says PERFECT #72. I have seen those at games.

Here is the front runner

The Cincinnati Bengals won’t have their franchise quarterback in training camp, but they will have their first-round draft pick.

Former Georgia receiver A.J. Green has agreed to a contract with the team. Green, the No. 4 overall pick, is the highest-drafted rookie to sign so far.

Green is an outstanding athlete and big-play receiver who’s expected to make an immediate impact for the Bengals.

The questions now are whether Green will ever catch a pass from Carson Palmer, and whether Green will be a teammate of Chad Ochocinco when the season starts.
