Watched two bad movies this weekend:
Arsenic and Old Lace - Was supposed to be a dark comedy, I felt sorry for Carey Grant...he was trying way too hard Fighter Squadron - Very clumsy story about some pilots leading up to D-Day, no real story, just a bunch of missions. You really didn't care about anyone in the movie, so if/when they died, you felt nothing.

Super 8: I can't say this was a bad movie but it was so formula-matic that it was boring. If you are 40 or better, you've already seen this...many times, don't bother.

Lately:
Adjustment Bureau - You tell me, I rented it and got so bored I didn't finish. Limitless - Not bad, but it was hard to sympathize with the main character so the ending fell flat. Dogtooth - We watched this several nights ago and we just finished another conversation about it. Interesting and disturbing. Stan Lee's Superhumans - Streamed from Netflix; worth watching Unless you're a Harry Potter fan there isn't much at the cinemas...

Dog Day Afternoon - excellent movie

The Lincoln Lawyer - not as good as a Grisham movie but it didn't suck - Felt the same way about the book. 7/10
The Sorcerers Apprentice - Fun take on old Disney classic. Wouldn't say it was the best movie I saw this year, but it was what it was. 5/10
There's no crying in baseball

The Guns of Navarone - Good, solid movie...45 minutes too long.

Crazy, Stupid, Love: Not bad, not really good. OK way to do a sappy flick the little woman.

I've been working my way through the Back to the Future movies, Amazon had the Blu-Ray set for $15, I couldn't resist. I'd only seen the original movie, back in 1985 in the theater.
The first movie was still good, the second one blows, I haven't watched the third one yet.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes: 3 out of 5 stars - It's disappointing that a project with many high points and so much potential gets drug down by a lack of depth in the story line, poor direction and weak character development. But boy, is that Freida Pinto hot!
